Hi! My name is Eva Johnston and I am the owner of Near & Dear Cherished Keepsakes! I'm a southern girl that was born and raised in a small town near Charlotte, North Carolina.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 I decided it was time to finally pursue the dream of creating my own business. I had wanted to put my eye for design/crafting to use but was waiting for that one thing I was truly passionate about to present itself.

After the birth of my first child in the Spring of 2020 I had a very difficult start to my breastfeeding journey due to my child having lip, tongue, and buccal ties. It was only by a strong determination, and wonderful support system that I was able to push through the hurdles and successfully breastfeed. 

I wanted to make a breastmilk jewelry keepsake for myself to celebrate my accomplishment, and that's when the lightbulb came on. I realized I didn't want to stop at just creating a keepsake for myself,

but for other people as well.

When I began taking steps to make my dream a reality the first task was choosing a business name. I struggled to think of something that felt right, but one morning I woke up and the term "Near & Dear" popped into my head, and that is how Near & Dear Cherished Keepsakes came to be!
