What are the guidelines for breastmilk?
-
I would like to have 15-20mls of breastmilk for preservation. I like to have that much in case some milk leaks during shipping. If you are unable to send that much then please contact me for further instructions. Ship milk at room temperature. It does not need to be frozen. Milk does not need to be fresh either, I can preserve any milk as long as it is not molded. Once I preserve the milk it will inhibit future growth of bacteria/mold.
What are the guidelines for ashes?
-
I only need a very small amount of ashes for each jewelry piece (¼ to ½ teaspoon is plenty). Please place ashes into a bag that seals very well. No need to double bag. Any unused ashes will be shipped back to you with your Keepsake Jewelry piece.
What are the guidelines for hair?
-
I need about a 2 inch long lock of hair per Keepsake Jewelry piece. To help keep the hair together please place the locket of hair in a folded piece of paper or foil, and then into a zip lock bag that seals well. Any unused hair will be shipped back to you with your Keepsake Jewelry piece.
What are the guidelines for dried flowers?
-
I request 1-2 petals/leaves of each color flower/greenery you would like in the Keepsake Jewelry. If the petals/greenery are very small then please send a little extra. Please only ship dried flowers/greenery in a zip lock bag. Do not ship fresh flowers/greenery in the mail as it will mold in transit. If you are unsure how to properly dry the flowers then you can contact me and we can discuss it. Any unused flowers are returned to you with your Keepsake Jewelry piece.

-
Turnaround time begins once I have received the keepsake(s) you send me. I try to have Keepsake Jewelry completed and shipped to you within 8-10 weeks. The turnaround time can change at any time. If you would like a piece completed by a certain date I would recommend contacting me directly prior to placing an order to confirm that it is possible. Do you offer certain types of metals for the Keepsake Jewelry?
-
I primarily offer sterling silver jewelry, as well as some yellow gold filled and rose gold filled pieces. If you are in search of something other than what I have listed (like solid gold) contact me for different options.
-
Sterling Silver: An alloy is a mixture of two or more different types of metals. The metals are heated to a liquid state and then poured together, forming a new material with properties from each metal. The reason silver needs to be combined with other metals is that it is very difficult to make great designs with just pure silver, which is very soft and malleable. A bit of hardness has to be introduced, by adding other metals such as copper. That’s why jewelers are capable of making the most intricate and complex designs with 925 Sterling Silver.
-
Yellow Gold Filled: In terms of construction of gold filled jewelry, the layer of solid gold is bonded to a base metal (such as brass, rhodium, copper or sterling silver) using a specific amount of heat and pressure. The jewelry piece has to have solid gold content of at least 5% of its total weight, otherwise it’s not classed as gold filled. Yellow gold filled jewelry will not wear off like “yellow gold plating” and is a good quality, more affordable alternative to solid gold.
-
Rose Gold Filled: Rose gold-fill is gold-fill, except that copper is mixed with the alloy to give it its standout rosy hue. In other words, both 14k gold and 14k rose gold contain the same amount of gold. The only difference is the combination of other metals that are added to the pure 24k gold to create the 14k gold alloy. Rose gold filled jewelry will not wear off like “rose gold plating” and is a good quality, more affordable alternative to solid gold.
